Ashkirk to Hawick is a point to point route over open farmland.

Ashkirk is a village located 5 miles north of Hawick. A point to point walk from Ashkirk starts on road before climbing over open farmland along tarmac roads and onto farmland crossing grass fields 

Spectacular panoramic views of the Borderland hills, from the Eildons round to Ruberslaw, the hills of the Northumberland National Park, Skelfhill and the hills of the Ettrick and Yarrow Valleys. On the route you will pass Drinkstone Hill trig point which is one of the 7 trigs of Hawick.

 

Warning: Can we remind you to respect farmers who have livestock in these areas, particularly during the spring when there are newborn lambs and calves. Please ensure all gates are properly closed behind you and that all dogs are kept on a lead.
